Shoot me! - Youth Sunday 2010

Rock on for JESUS! Yeahhh!

This was our group picture remembrance of our Youth sunday.
I was astonished and happy at the same time to see
that we were a great number here. I pray that we will be fruitful in that area.
As to the fact that, the 'harvest' is plenty but the workers are few. ;(

Zeal. Passion. Commitment. Heart.
It's my constant prayer and desire for the youth.
I know very well that the Lord sees every bit of it and He is waiting...

Faithful Friend

Kindly play the song first before you read the message...

Besty Julie;

I'd like to wish you a Happy Birthday!
There are so many things I'd like to say about you that are so hard to put into words.
You are seriously one of the bestfriend I could ask for,
I am so happy that I get to be your friend.
You mean a lot to me. :)

I know i can always count on you for so many things,
Although I know that you might have a different opinion,
You will always respect mine and listen to all my "BORING PROBLEMS."

Every minute that we spend together is so much fun!
I love that you have your own, unique personality, and you won't anyone change you.
Without you I might not be who I am,
I know that you are always there. Hmmmmnnn...

You always makes me feel better when I'm not happy.
I can honestly say that my best days have been with you. :)
I'm so glad we've gotten to know each other so well,
We even think alike "MOST OF THE TIME"

I want you to know that you are an AMAZING Friend.
You are an AWESOME person in general.
You're so sincere, kind, nice and faithful friend. Weeeeee...

I know i can always count on you...
I grabbed this opportunity to write a message on your page,
Because you deserve to be appreciated...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY "MY BESTY"

Sweet sayings 101

I confess. As a woman, girl, or lady, words can and may sweep our feet away. Am I right ladies? Well, women as we are, by nature, we are emotional. Men are objective. But it does not apply to all though. But then, hearing from friends who are already in a relationship, I seem to observe how their boy friends deal with those sugar-coated words that are often or almost always said! Lol!

Honestly though, I have not been in a relationship (so far!), but through confessions of friends and learning from them as well, I can relate with this! Going back, women, when hearing these little, simple yet ‘moving’ words, we have tendencies (I am not exempted) to take them in the amplified level. Meaning to say, we, LIKE hearing those, even if at times we say it is corny. But then, somehow and in some way, they make us feel we are appreciated, treated-like-a-queen, given attention for, and simply admired for. Right girls? And we LIKE that, don’t we?

So all you guys out there, find out the right and Sweet things to say to your girlfriend. Remember: we women are keen with words, so please mean those and not just for sweeping our feet away and make us feel all euphoric. And to all the women out there, still stand your ground, but then don’t forget to still thank the guys for the effort of saying those sweet words! :)

No rain here!

Rain rain rain. Unending rain. Every afternoon, it always rains. Oh well, guess its a blessing.

Thinking back to the times when we have brownouts everyday because of the water shortage, then now is the time we ought not to complain. (Reminding myself to!)

I can't help but just write about it. Hey its the weather, one way or another, we are affected. Might as well write about it anyhow! :)

The news now is buzzing with it. There's a storm in Manila (signal no. 1!). And in the distal areas of the country, the heavy rain is pouring all the way down. But did you know that there's a place where even a single rainfall didn't drop? Yeah, you read it right, it's the ATACAMA desert in South America. No rain ever recorded in all human history! whew! Now that's a trivia on the driest place on earth! Check the details out here.

Something to learn and be grateful for the rain eh? :)

Word-Filled Wednesday - Wherever you go, I am with you

A true promise indeed.
The world may falter and it truly will,
and man's desires will not fill,
The grass fades and flowers fall,
but the promises of the Lord outlives them all.

Anyway, I 'll make it sure I'll go here someday!

Tuesday Couch Potatoes #7 - The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

This is one best chick flick movie! I loved the transformation of Anne Hathaway here, the naive, newbie journalist who enters the different world of fashion with her ruthless boss to go along with it! Taking it as a challenge, Anne Hathaway paved her way to her boss' standards, having a total make-over. But what she realizes, she changes in the inside as well affecting her relationships. In the end, she learns to follow her heart, quits the job, and chooses to follow her happiness. No superior can decide and control her life, except her.

Ruby Tuesday #1 - True Love Waits

Here's my first entry for Ruby Tuesday!
This was taken last February 2010 (forgot the day!).
During our Concert-Symposium. The night was full of learning
the right definition, ways, perspective and
guiding principles of the 4 letter-word L-O-V-E! :)

Flu alert 101

Ugh! Now I'm infected again. The three classical signs that an impending cold is coming:

(1) Sore throat.
(2) Runny and congested nose.
(3) Spontaneous Sneezing.

And when it is not intervened, it levels up to having the flu = a combination of Fever+Body fatigue+Headache+Cough and Runny, congested nose.

It's a check and balance that my body's immune system's status ain't that good and steady. Should I blame this to the weather? (It's like everyday is raining, at some point it rains cats and dogs!)

Again, I'm back to increased hydration (1 liter ain't enough/day). So if you're like me right now, aside from increasing your fluids, it's time to get back on track on your vitamin C's (huhuhu, I stopped taking mine that's why!).

And one basic intervention to do? REST. Yeah. No matter how many tablets of vitamin C's you dig in and overload yourself with fluids, if rest isn't there, then its worthless. Rest is one way the body compensates to fight back the infection (Fever is one Normal compensation unless it perseveres that's when you consult your doctor when it is constantly high). Fever is also the process by which it manages the opportunistic infection you have their by increasing your body's temperature. FYI: Some organism that make you sick cannot thrive in high temperatures. And so, that's why you shiver when you have a fever because the body is constantly helping speeding up metabolism, thus increasing body temperature.
Thank God I haven't reached this stage yet! It's not easy getting sick these days!

One thing to note though, do not rely so much in taking medications even for just a simple slight fever or what. It is still best to first have the 'independent interventions' (as we term it in nursing) wherein medication is a last resort.

1. Drink liberal fluids (water is advised but not limited to, soft drinks can wait!).
2. Do yourself a Sponge bath or a TSB. Tepid Sponge Bath.
3. Eat fruits and food rich in vitamin C.Your body needs a boost-up.
4. Rest. :)

Whoa, I'm talking my language here. lol! Learned something? :)

yummy sUnday #3 - Eat your crown!

Improvised snacks related to the theme for our Weekly Children's Bible School last Saturday!
Weeee! I sooo love it! So yummy and chocolatey! lol! Our story by the way was about the story of King David. So by that, we made the bread to be shaped as crowns, then putting the brown chocolate as the crown's linings The white chocolate being the 'diamonds' lol!

The children sure enjoyed! So did we! :)

Shadow Shot Sunday - Peace pose!

Taken during our Weekly Children's Bible School.
A pose under the shade amidst the tiring yet fun-filled and
worthwhile work ministry for the kids!

Scenic Sunday - Behind the Clouds

Behind every dark clouds and shadows,
there's always the light shining ABOVE it.
A good reminder to keep in the trials of this life.
There's always HOPE. REDEMPTION. FAITH.

Then Sings my soul Saturdays - Remembering You

I hope I'm not too late to post for TSMSS! I can't miss this meme! :)

Anyway, here it is. It's one of the movie soundtrack of the Narnia! One of the best fantasy-fiction movies with a heart-warming story! Sung by one of my favorite singers, Steven Curtis Chapman, this song will blow your heart away with its compelling words and wonderful lively music!

The Lyrics:

I found You in the most unlikely way
But really it was You who found me
And I found myself in the gifts that You gave
You gave me so much and I

I wish You could stay
but I'll, I'll wait for the day

Chorus
And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering You, I'll be remembering You

From the first moment when I heard Your name
Something in my heart came alive
You showed me love and no words could explain
A love with the power to
Open the door
To a world I was made for

Chorus
And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering You, I'll be remembering You

The dark night, the hard fight
The long climb up the hill knowing the cost
The brave death, the last breathe
The silence whispering all hope was lost
The thunder, the wonder
A power that brings the dead back to life

I wish You could stay
But I'll wait for the day
And though You've gone away
You come back and

Chorus
And I watch as the cold winter melts into spring
And I'll be remembering You
Oh and I'll smell the flowers and hear the birds sing
and I'll be remembering You, I'll be remembering You

And I'll watch as the sun fills a sky that was dark
And I'll be remembering You
And I'll think of the way that You fill up my heart
And I'll be remembering You

I'll be remembering You
I'll be remembering You
I'll be remembering You

I'll be remembering You

Reality bites!

Heard of the latest news? It has been two nights already that I heard this, and it pains me in hearing so. I tried remembering the numbers but it seems that I can't.

Nursing is coined as a noble profession. But now, it seems something is pulling it down.

Two nights and the news has been feasting on it. The latest was about half of present nursing schools are endangered to be closed by the CHED (Commision on Higher Education) because of their status in keeping up with their status of giving quality Nursing education. Who should be blamed then? Do we need to point a finger at someone or at some cause?

It was, I think way back 10 years ago or something that the spark of nursing interest came. Because of the IN-DEMAND status of Nurses abroad, people from all walks of life had their eye and pockets on nursing.

So, where is nursing now? Is the heart and passion still there? Is the calling still there?

Honestly, from the looks of Nursing now, it ain't the same as before. Now, Nurses are flooding without stable jobs, or even just jobs. It's even hard to get in as a volunteer! I'm flabbergasted!

But hey, when your heart is really there. When your joy and you know that your calling is there, you will never give up. Even if the odds are not that good, even if hopes are vanishing into thin air, even if the fire has lost its burn, the important thing is: the WILL will still be there. By that, a spark will still start, and the fire be burned again, figuratively, passion will still live on.

I will always remember this, to whose hearts are really on nursing and not just for the grasp of greener pastures: Nursing will not just be a course but a CALLING, not a stock figure but a NOBLE profession to be lifted high, not an idle heart but a LIFE BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING OF LOVE extended to others!

I am what I am. A Nurse..and will still be one no matter what. :)

Shoot me! - Oathtaking 2010

Tuesday Couch Potatoes #6 - City of Angels (1998)

A romantic line from the movie:
"I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it."

The movie's Tagline:
She didn't believe in angels until she fell in love with one.

A romantic movie that will touch your hearts
and sweep you off your feet ladies! :)

Mellow yeLLow Monday #7 - Surprise in a cake

I was given a chance to attend a debut of a churchmate who came back from UK. I was really amazed when, at the time of the 18 candles (of which the candles are already on the cake), the candles that were lightened up marvelously bloomed and out came several mini candles! The cakes were so colorful and beautifully done. :)
More yellowness (if there is such a word, lol!) here in this meme!

Scenic Sunday - Shine your light out!

There's a saying that goes: 'In every dark and gloomy skies,
there's always the sun shining above it! (thanks Aninz for the pic)
It is the same way as saying that in life, whatever situation you may be into be it painful, sad, and bleak, always remember that above those things, there's always shining hope as long as we'll trust the Lord in everything!

Life it self has its various spices,
and only the Chef knows the right recipe to it! :)
